Given the characteristics of the platform, and taking advantage of the progress of new communication technologies, FIWARE is designed as the basis of the technological infrastructure of smart cities or environments, providing them with essential utilities, such as IoT devices, big data, user interfaces, etc.

Telefónica, in collaboration with Fiware Foundation, will deploy the first port Fiware innovation node in the world in the Port of Huelva to promote intelligent management and digitisation of the port-logistics sector with the latest technologies, including 5G.

The company will also introduce the services required to drive the port technological innovation system and will energise the node and attract knowledge to it.

The technological innovation node will take 2,000 square metres of the physical space of the building located in the Port of Huelva, concretely on the first floor. It has different areas for developers, companies and other entities to carry out their innovation tasks in this environment.
